The cat is the only carrier animal of toxoplasmosis. True or false ? Fake. The cat is the definitive host of the parasite, but there are many intermediate hosts.Thus, cows, goats, sheep, pigs, horses, dogs, poultry, rodents, birds, can harbor the parasite. The last animals, "Toxoplasma gondii" is present in the form of cyst and is inactive. Affected animals have therefore no symptoms (or very rarely, for the dog for example).
