The horse infectious anemia
It is a viral condition serious but exceptional in France. It is listed in the redhibitory defects and diseases deemed contagious.
It manifests itself in an acute form by hyperthermia, by prostration, an increase in heart rate or in a chronic form of a succession of hyperthermia crises, general weakness, locomotor disorders, edema and anemia.
There are risks of blood contamination and therefore mother to fetus , and with milk (from mother to foal). There is no treatment and prevention is the elimination of animal suffering.
